vassa (rainy season retreat)
This traditional ritual is performed to symbolically invite the rainy season, marking the start of a period of intensified meditation and monastic practice for monks. During this time, monks often remain in one location, usually a monastery or temple, for three months to focus on spiritual practices.

This marks the beginning of a period where QMG members and devotees provide increased support to the monastic community for three consecutive months, including offering alms and other necessities
